Last weekend, traffic police officers intensified road safety controls. Primarily, State Automobile Inspectorate officers identified and removed intoxicated drivers and unlicensed drivers from traffic. Furthermore, with the onset of warmer weather, control over reckless drivers has been enhanced. Attention was paid to compliance with rules regarding entering oncoming lanes and proceeding through pedestrian crossings. Motorcyclists, cyclists, and pedestrians were also monitored.
The first day of the working week began with preventive measures aimed at preventing road traffic accidents caused by drivers under the influence of alcohol, under the operation "Filter". For the event, the 124th kilometre of the Богушевск-Сенно-Лепель-Мядель highway was designated, where a post of the State Automobile Inspectorate Department of the Lepel District Department of Internal Affairs operated from 07:00 to 09:00.
According to information received from the State Automobile Inspectorate Department of the Lepel District Department of Internal Affairs, 12 traffic violations were detected during the event, including: 2 drivers without a driving license, 10 drivers operating vehicles not permitted for road traffic, and 1 driver not wearing a seatbelt. The State Automobile Inspectorate strongly advises drivers to be extremely vigilant in traffic flow on rural roads. When driving, a safe speed should be chosen, rash overtaking should be avoided, and mutual courtesy should be exercised. It is essential to wear seatbelts, and children should be transported in special restraint systems.
