In the Lepel district, large-scale preventive work was carried out with the participation of cadets of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

From February 18 to 19, a two-day training exercise for cadets of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) was held in the Lepel district. More than 100 people, including cadets, lecturers from the Civil Protection University of the MES, employees of the Lepel District Department for Emergency Situations, and rescuers from the regional MES department, were involved in carrying out preventive work in the region. The main goal of this work is to explain life safety rules to the public.

Residents of the Lepel region welcomed the participants of the raid activities cordially, showed their homes and explained how they ensure their safety. In households, participants of the raid groups discussed common issues: how to use electrical appliances, how to maintain stove heating in a fire-safe condition, and the inadmissibility of smoking in residential areas. In families with underage children, attention was also focused on not leaving them unattended, even for a few minutes. In addition, a significant factor in ensuring the fire safety of a household is the presence and operability of an autonomous fire alarm. This small device will always alert about a fire. This is especially relevant at night when everyone is asleep.

As part of the work in the Lepel district, over a thousand households were visited. These included households of large families and families with children in socially dangerous situations, single and lonely elderly citizens, disabled individuals, as well as the homes of citizens prone to alcohol abuse.

Individual work in citizens' households will be continued. Homeowners who received recommendations from rescuers during fire prevention measures should immediately rectify the existing violations of fire safety rules to avoid contributing to fire statistics by their own example.
