To enhance public safety, intensify fire prevention activities, analyze their effectiveness, and assess the readiness of territories for the autumn-winter fire hazardous period, a nationwide campaign "For Safety Together" will be held from October 16 to November 1, 2019, aimed at preventing fires and deaths caused by them in residential buildings.
The objective of the campaign is to reduce the number of fires caused by citizens' non-compliance with fire safety rules in residential buildings and structures, settlements, and territories; to raise public awareness of the capabilities of state organizations in providing fire safety services; to strengthen law and order; and to prevent offenses committed by citizens under the influence of alcohol.
The main tasks of the campaign include: informing the public about the state of fire safety; explaining to citizens the consequences of non-compliance with fire safety rules, leaving children unattended, and alcohol abuse; assisting local executive and administrative bodies and other organizations in educating citizens on fire safety measures in everyday life and at work; assisting voluntary fire brigades in organizing fire prevention activities; and drawing the attention of local executive and administrative bodies to the need for regular and targeted work to ensure fire safety in their respective territories, including improving fire protection for the homes and apartments of lonely elderly citizens and disabled individuals.
Every resident of the district can contact the district department for emergency situations to have their dwelling inspected for compliance with fire safety rules and receive recommendations from rescuers.
