One can argue about queues in shops, the limited range of goods in Soviet times, but it was also a part of life, and for some, the best years, including school years. We have also decided to recall what school was like in the USSR.
We should note right away that many residents of the district, upon visiting the exhibition, will be immersed in their childhood from the very first minutes. Here you can see a wooden school desk, at which we "absorbed" knowledge at school. On the interactive panel, you can view photographs, starting from 1917 (I, for example, did not know that there was a Mariinsky Women's Gymnasium in Lepel), the history of the creation of schools, photos of graduates, unique educational documents, and much more.
I am sure that interesting facts from the field of education will interest visitors. For example, you can find out why September 1st became the start date of the academic year, study information about the first kindergarten in Belarus, about the school named in honor of the Berezina Water System, and much more. There is an opportunity to solve riddles, quizzes, crosswords, thereby testing your knowledge.
On the interactive board, I immediately started looking for my educational institution – Lepel Secondary School No. 2. I didn't find myself in the photos, but I was glad to see my peers and acquaintances, as well as my favorite teachers.
In addition, you can recall school items: uniforms, satchels, shoes, notebooks, textbooks, and much more. In general, everything we don't pay attention to while using it. But over time, we begin to understand that this was what constituted the era.
I must admit, the exhibition is nostalgic. I immediately wanted to sit down at a desk and go back 30-35 years, when everything didn't change as quickly as it does now.
Familiar, but forgotten objects captivate the gaze. And describing them is probably useless – you have to see and remember them! "That very school dress, satchel, notebooks, and textbooks." Oh, I had sneakers like that – comfortable, I didn't want any others... Each visitor will have their own cherished items.
The Soviet school is a unique phenomenon, a real emotional surge for many of us. And the exhibition also provides food for thought on how the education system in the USSR differed from the modern one.
Particular pleasure is derived from the titles of textbooks and books, in which we found many interesting things for ourselves.
A separate place in the exhibition is dedicated to the items used by Soviet schoolchildren. Among them are all sorts of compasses, erasers, pens... And the backpack...
