A scheduled meeting of the commission for assisting in the control of compliance with legislation on freedom of conscience and religious organizations was held at the Lepel District Executive Committee, chaired by Veronika Khombak.

Experts from key sectors and clergy of denominations registered in the Lepel district were invited to the dialogue.

Key issues of the meeting:

Natalia Volkova, a specialist of the Territorial Center for Social Services of the Population, delivered a report on interaction with religious organizations in humanitarian and social work.

Maksim Belsky, inspector of the supervision and prevention sector of the Lepel District Department for Emergency Situations, reported on the results of the inspection of wooden churches of the Belarusian Orthodox Church. The issue of fire safety of religious buildings is always under strict control.

A lively dialogue with Natalia Skovorodko, a narcologist of the Lepel Central District Hospital, was held in a round table format. Participants discussed how to more actively involve religious organizations in spiritual and educational work on addiction prevention.
