What should summer be like? The formula for an ideal summer is simple and straightforward: summer should be sunny, delicious, fun, airy, and most importantly – SAFE.
Who is most at risk of emergencies during the summer period? Children, of course. During the holidays, they are left to their own devices for most of the time. As a result, the risk of fires due to children’s carelessness with fire, as well as child fatalities at water bodies, significantly increases.
To ensure that summer holidays for children pass without emergencies and are not overshadowed by tragic events, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) will conduct the republican information and outreach campaign “Safe Holidays!” and will fill the children's leisure time with numerous useful activities. The campaign will run from June 1 to August 31 in health and school camps, in preschool educational institutions, as well as in places with mass gatherings of people.
The main goal of the rescuers is to prevent emergencies due to children’s carelessness with fire, as well as child fatalities at water bodies. Through various game-based formats, children will acquire knowledge of life safety, which is so necessary, especially during the summer period.
The MES reminds: dear parents, grandfathers and grandmothers!
Under no circumstances leave young children unattended! Do not allow children to play with fire, keep matches and lighters out of reach, and do not let children near windows and balconies. Remind children of the rules of safe behaviour near water, ensure that a child does not swim unattended. Remember that not only water bodies pose a danger, but also wells, bathtubs, buckets of water, and decorative ponds.
Preserving the life and health of children is a common task for all adults!
Have a safe summer!
