The long-awaited summer holidays have arrived. This means that three months filled with interesting activities and vivid emotions lie ahead for the children. It is during this period that one of the priority areas of work for specialists in the Lepel district is the preparation and conduct of the summer health improvement campaign.

In the current season, the leisure activities for boys and girls promise to be eventful and interesting. Children's camps are already waiting for young holidaymakers. We learned from Viktor Azarenok, Deputy Chairman of the Lepel District Executive Committee, how many children are planned to be health-improved in the summer of 2021 and where.

Viktor Vladimirovich, how will the health improvement of children in day camps be organized?

— In the summer period of 2021, it is planned to health-improve 360 students from the Lepel district in day camps, which will be organized on the basis of 14 state educational institutions, the state institution of additional education "Lepel Center for Children and Youth", as well as the state institution of special education "Center for Correctional and Developmental Education and Rehabilitation of Lepel".

What health improvement options will be offered to those who prefer round-the-clock camps?

— In order to create the necessary conditions for the implementation of the education program for children in need of health improvement, a round-the-clock health improvement camp "Borovka" will operate on the basis of the state educational institution "Gymnasium named after I.M. Erashov of Lepel", where it is planned to health-improve about 400 children. The camp will operate in three shifts. For minors aged 14-16, it is planned to operate a military-patriotic unit with active interaction with servicemen of military unit 22313, as well as the 19th Separate Mechanized Brigade. Close interaction will also be established with employees of the district internal affairs department, in particular, the juvenile inspection.

Is it planned to operate specialized camps this season?

— Yes, certainly. In our district, 9-day mobile tent camps with round-the-clock stays of various profiles will operate — a tourism and local history profile for 10 students of the district aged 12 to 16 on the basis of the district center for children and youth, an ecological profile for 20 students on

on the basis of the I.M. Yerashov Gymnasium of Lepel, as well as a local history profile for 20 students of the district on the basis of the Slobodskaya nursery-garden – secondary school of Lepel district.

Which camps will allow children not only to improve their health, but also to acquire practical work skills?

— Such an opportunity will be available to the pupils of labour and recreation camps with daytime attendance. Camps of this type will be organised for 50 students of our district aged 14 to 18 years on the basis of city schools. Agreements on youth employment have been concluded with the State Forestry Institution "Lepelsky Leskhoz", the Unitary Communal Production Enterprise "Borovka", a branch of the "Lepelsky Dairy and Canning Plant" of the Open Joint Stock Company "Vitebsky Meat Processing Plant". In such camps, children will be involved in socially useful activities, which, along with fostering healthy lifestyle skills, will help create conditions for professional self-determination and awareness of professional choice.

During the conversation, Viktor Vladimirovich also noted that the organisation of summer leisure for certain categories of children will be under control throughout the entire summer period. Special attention will be paid to ensuring the maximum reasonable employment of orphans and children left without parental care, children recognised as being in a socially dangerous situation, and children for whom individual preventive work is being carried out.
