A modern dairy farm for 776 head of milking cows has been opened after reconstruction at SUP "Dolzha-Agro" of OJSC "BelVitunipharm" in Liozno District.
The facility was constructed within the framework of Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus No. 442 "On the Construction and Reconstruction of Dairy Farms". The complex includes two cow sheds with a milking and milk processing unit, a dry cow housing facility, a calving unit, a calf nursery, silage trenches, and a water intake.
During the opening ceremony, the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Subbotin, emphasized that the Vitebsk region has a particular need for modern livestock facilities where milk production technology can be meticulously observed. Last year, 10 dairy farms were commissioned, and this year, construction of another ten is underway. The strategy for the development of the livestock sector envisages the construction of over 130 facilities. Within the next few years, 10-15 facilities will be commissioned annually.
According to the Chairman of the Liozno District Executive Committee, Ivan Fedorov, the complex in the village of Chernoruchye was built in 15 months. It will enable "Dolzha-Agro" to increase its daily milk production from 8 to 15 tonnes in the future.
The General Director of OJSC "BelVitunipharm", Ilya Darovskikh, noted that the modern complex was urgently needed. It will allow for the consolidation of livestock previously housed on outdated farms into one location. The plan is to establish a breeding nucleus of high-yielding cows, which will impact milk production levels. An important factor is the significant improvement in working conditions for employees.
