The XXIIIrd International Specialized Exhibition "Mass Media in Belarus" is opening in Minsk.

Today, the XXIII International Specialized Exhibition "Mass Media in Belarus" starts in Minsk, reports BELTA.

More than 50 exhibitors will be represented at the exhibition. Printed and electronic media, as well as online publications, which began to be registered in our country according to the legislative innovation of December 1, 2018, will be widely showcased.

As reported by the Ministry of Information, the forum visitors will be offered a rich program of events, including presentations of information and internet projects, autograph sessions, and master classes. Heads of mass media and journalists, representatives of the expert community will discuss significant issues of the media sphere's functioning, the role of mass media in the development of society and the state within the business program. A number of events will be dedicated to regional mass media, which will talk about their participation in the socio-economic development of their regions. A presentation of sports publications will take place.

A significant part of the exhibition program is allocated to projects of BELTA, press services, and communication agencies. In particular, the Belarusian Telegraph Agency will present unique photos from its archive of 1941-1944 at the forum, introduce partisan magazines, and offer visitors to taste partisan porridge. The BELTA stand will also showcase the traditions of sovereign Belarus and serve as a venue for meetings with athletes and setting a new record.

On a separate stand, prepared with the assistance of the Plenipotentiary Representative for Religious and National Affairs, media of diasporas will be exhibited. The Baltic States, Ukraine, and Russia will be represented. A delegation from Uzbekistan will also attend. The Embassy of China in Belarus will introduce exhibition guests to Chinese media. In addition, on the opening day of the exhibition, an award ceremony for the winners of the competition for the best coverage of issues of interethnic and interfaith relations, intercultural dialogue in Belarus, and cooperation with compatriots abroad will be held.

Among other features of this year's forum are the holding of the first thematic PR Day on May 3, as well as a wide presentation of online media, including the internet publication Mediana.by, founded jointly with the Faculty of Journalism of Belarusian State University, the Ministry of Information, and the Public Press Center of the House of Press.

Traditionally, on May 3, as part of the exhibition, awards will be presented to the winners in 23 nominations of the National Print Media Contest "Golden Letter" at the "Dipservice Hall" venue (Voyskovy Lane, 4). This year, over 330 applications were submitted for participation.

On May 4, "Mass Media in Belarus" will host a children's day. For the first time, the exhibition will be presented through the eyes of its youngest participants – children. Special reports about the exhibition are planned to be prepared by young journalists.

Among the exhibition participants are also cable television operators and distributors, print media distributors, and publishing houses. For example, the RUP "Belsoyuzpechat" stand will feature book presentations and autograph sessions, interviews, and a master class on sculpting with kinetic sand, a children's drawing contest, and a quest dedicated to the Great Patriotic War. An interactive photo zone "Belarus Remembers" and a cafe area will be available.

On the eve of the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders, RUP "Belpochta" will hold a promotional event "Send a Message to a Great Patriotic War Veteran". Exhibition visitors will be able to sign postcards and greeting cards and thank those who brought the long-awaited Victory for peace on their native land. The enterprise's employees will deliver messages to veterans with kind and warm wishes free of charge to any location in Belarus.
At their stands, Belarusian media outlets will present projects within the framework of the republican campaign "Belarus Remembers".

The XXIII International Specialized Exhibition "Mass Media in Belarus" will be held from May 2 to 4 at the administrative complex at Pobediteley Avenue, 14. The opening ceremony will take place today at 12:00 PM. The central themes of the exhibition will be the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders, the II European Games, modern internet technologies, and the revival of small homelands.

The International Specialized Exhibition "Mass Media in Belarus" has been held annually since 1997 by the Ministry of Information with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Minsk City Executive Committee, RUP "National Exhibition Centre "BelExpo", other government bodies, leading media outlets, and public organizations.
