In the Belarusian capital on May 1, a 41-year-old temperature record was broken – the air warmed up to 27.4 degrees Celsius. Previously, the highest temperature on the first day of May was recorded in 1977 – plus 26.7 degrees.
In Vitebsk and Mogilev, the temperature on May 1 rose to 27.5 degrees Celsius. As a result, records dating back 41 years (plus 26.1 and plus 26.7 degrees respectively) were also updated.
According to weather forecasters, today in the afternoon, temperatures are expected to range from 19 to 25 degrees Celsius, and in the southeast – plus 26-29 degrees. There will be variable cloudiness, with short-term rains expected mainly in the south of the country during the day, with thunderstorms possible in some areas. The wind is forecast to be moderately unstable, gusting during thunderstorms.
