Traffic police officers will continue their work to prevent child road injuries even after the completion of the "Attention Children!" special comprehensive event. The special comprehensive event was held from August 25 to September 5.

State Automobile Inspectorate officers reminded children and adults of the basic rules for safe behaviour on the roads. Raids were conducted in conjunction with the media.

Together with teams of young traffic inspectors, a series of preventive campaigns were carried out aimed at preventing road traffic accidents. During these campaigns, leaflets of a preventive nature and retroreflective elements were distributed among road users.

Despite the ongoing work and informing road users through the mass media, undisciplined drivers are still encountered on the roads. During the event in the district, the traffic police: stopped 62 instances of drivers operating vehicles without dipped headlights; 8 drivers were held accountable for violating child transportation rules; 6 drivers were held accountable for failing to yield to pedestrians at designated pedestrian crossings; 1 driver was held accountable for driving under the influence of alcohol. No road traffic accidents involving children were registered in the Lepel district. The State Automobile Inspectorate will continue its work to prevent child injuries, prioritising control over compliance with rules for transporting minors and drivers who fail to yield to pedestrians at pedestrian crossings.
