172 chess players from Belarus (Vitebsk, Grodno, Orsha, Novopolotsk, Polotsk, Gomel, Lida, Zhodino, Dzerzhinsk, Lepel, Uzda, Chashniki, Ushachi, Postavy, Glubokoye) and Russia (Smolensk, Velikiye Luki, Yaroslavl, Tosno) participated. A total of 34 teams!

The result for our team, we should add, is quite respectable for a small town: 16th place out of 34 teams. Egor Demko showed the best result among the boys, Taisiya Mostovnikova showed the best result among the girls, and Demid Avtushko demonstrated the highest growth compared to last year. Ivan Drozdov, Sofia Kotlyarova, and Maxim Golets showed a stable performance at their level.

All the children are coached by Viktor Radko at the District Centre for Children and Youth.
