On the eve of an important date – the Day of Remembrance of Soldiers-Internationalists – a lesson of courage titled "The Afghan War in People's Destinies" was held at the Starolepel Basic School named after A.A. Marunko in Lepel District.

The honorary guests of the patriotic event included Sergey Krivel, Chairman of the Lepel District Organization of the Belarusian Union of War Veterans in Afghanistan, as well as Leonid Bordko, Viktor Andreichikov, and Vasily Starozharov.

The guests spoke with both joy and sadness about their time in Afghanistan, while the students and teachers asked questions of interest. To conclude, the event participants honored the memory of the fallen internationalist soldiers with a minute of silence.

The lessons of courage and meetings with those who know firsthand what war is like will be long remembered by the district's students.
