Today, the Minister of Agriculture and Food, Yuri Gorlov, made a working trip to the Vitebsk region, where he familiarised himself with the progress of the harvesting campaign and the state of affairs in livestock breeding.
The head of the department began his working day with a visit to KUSKhP "Velikodolskoye" in the Ushachi district, where he inspected the process of harvesting winter rapeseed. The enterprise has already completed the collection of winter barley with a yield of 27.1 centners per hectare, and the rapeseed harvest amounted to 18.3 centners per hectare. In total, farmers are to harvest 1671 hectares of grain and leguminous crops.
The Minister paid special attention to the livestock sector of the farm. In the prophylaxis unit for raising young calves, he familiarised himself with the conditions for keeping young stock and the state of the fodder base. The enterprise, which is one of the main producers in the Ushachi region, has a cattle population of almost 1.5 thousand head. 92.2% of the silage plan has already been prepared, and 15 centners of fodder units per conventional head have been laid in.
"We must listen to people, hear them and solve problems. Everyone, from the calf-tender to the Minister, must approach their work conscientiously, then together, of course, we will put things in order," emphasised Yuri Gorlov.
In the Lepel district, the Minister visited MTRK "Yurkovshchina" SPF "Zaozerie" of OJSC "Vitebsk Meat Processing Plant", where he familiarised himself with modern technologies for raising cattle and milk production.
The Minister concluded his working trip at the "Bobrovo-Agro" branch of CJSC "Vitebskagropromproduct", where he inspected the progress of the harvesting campaign and gave practical recommendations for further work.
