As part of the "From the Bottom of Our Hearts" campaign, Alesya Erashova, chairperson of the district organization of the Republican Party of Labour and Justice, together with Sergey Krivel, chairperson of the Lepel district organization of the "Belarusian Union of War Veterans in Afghanistan," visited Raisa Prokhorevich, a mother whose son did not return home alive while fulfilling his international duty.

Guests congratulated the woman on the upcoming New Year and Christmas and presented her with gifts.

More than a quarter of a century has passed since the last Soviet soldier left the Afghan mountains. The terrible death notices received by inconsolable mothers have yellowed with time. But the mother's heart continues to suffer from bitter loss just as before.

– I am grateful to everyone who does not forget us, the Afghan mothers, who honour the memory of our fallen sons, — noted Raisa Fedorovna. – It is very pleasant that we are cared for and not left alone with our grief.
