As part of the republican campaign "Don't burn your life!", employees of the Vitebsk Regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) conducted preventive measures in the work collectives of Lepel district. Rescuers visited 32 enterprises and organizations in the district. Employees were informed about the operational situation regarding fires in the republic and the region, the main causes of emergencies were highlighted, and examples of deaths in fires and on water bodies were given. The topic of bringing electrical wiring and stove heating into a fire-safe condition was discussed, as well as citizens' responsibility in case of violation of fire safety rules. In the discussions, special attention was paid to the problem of leaving children unattended and preventing their pranks with fire, and the joint work of prevention entities to prevent fires and deaths in them. Practical training on actions to extinguish fires at the initial stage using a fire extinguisher was conducted. To reinforce the information presented, video films "Non-childish games", "Rules of behavior on ice", "Actions upon the signal 'Attention everyone!'" were shown. Using a presentation, attendees were introduced to the mobile application "MES of Belarus. Help is near", its purpose, capabilities, and main functions were explained. Smartphone or tablet owners were recommended to install this application in order to effectively act in any emergency situation.
