In the district museum of local lore, there is a hall dedicated to the late 20th – early 21st century.

In addition to a variety of valuable material, one can also see money here, for example, "bunnies".

Perhaps many Belarusians, even during the circulation of "bunnies" in the country, asked themselves more than once: why did animals become the "face" of the first independent national currency, as it seemed somewhat unserious.

The Presidium of the Supreme Soviet chose such a theme very quickly and not by chance: they decided to draw on the experience of some countries where banknotes had been decorated with images of birds even earlier. Belarusians liked the idea, but they modified it slightly.

Meanwhile, today the Belarusian "menagerie" is valued precisely for its original simplicity and adherence to the initially chosen theme – only animals.
