At "Teplichny," a major investment project for the construction of energy-saving greenhouses for growing vegetables and greens using Dutch technology has been completed. The new greenhouses, covering an area of over 4 hectares, are already yielding produce, including cucumbers, lettuce, dill, parsley, basil, and others. Concurrently, the enterprise partially dismantled old greenhouses, and berry plantations were established on the freed-up several hectares. "We cultivate 2 hectares of strawberries, half a hectare of raspberries, half a hectare of blackberries, and a hectare of blueberries. We have already harvested this year, selling about 2.5 tonnes of fresh berries. In the future, we plan to install a freezing line with a capacity of 1,000 tonnes. We will freeze berries and also prepare frozen vegetable mixes. We plan to implement this investment project in 2018," explained Pavel Fominov.
Regarding the new greenhouses, they were commissioned this autumn. 250 tonnes of vegetables have already been supplied to the retail network. "In winter, we will grow cucumbers, in summer – tomatoes, and year-round we will produce greens. Currently, 90% of cucumbers and greens are sold domestically, primarily supplied to Minsk, Vitebsk, and Orsha. The export market is Russia. Poland has also shown interest in our products," noted the director.
The main advantage of the greenhouses is their energy-saving nature (generation 4+). "Heat consumption is almost twice as low as in conventional greenhouses. This is significant because energy resources account for over 50% of the costs in growing vegetables in closed ground. The greenhouses are equipped with special screens, shading systems, and so on. Technological processes are integrated with software, which leads to energy resource savings," added the interviewee.
