As part of the launched republican campaign "Children in the Spotlight!", employees of the Lepel District Department for Emergency Situations held a preventive event at the Univermag store in the city of Lepel.
The venue for the event was not chosen by chance, as it is now that parents begin to prepare their children for the start of the new academic year, buying school uniforms and stationery. Both adult shoppers and their children were invited by the Ministry of Emergency Situations employees to take part in a quiz, where adults and children demonstrated their knowledge of the basics of life safety. It is worth noting that some schoolchildren showed higher knowledge than their parents. Preventive discussions were also held with shoppers, they were recommended to purchase fire detectors and install them in their homes for safety purposes, urged not to leave their children unattended, and examples of tragic child deaths were cited.
Both children and adults received colorful booklets and brochures as gifts from the Ministry of Emergency Situations employees, so that safety rules would always be at hand and never forgotten.
