In fog and rain, exercise caution on the roads.

Positive air temperatures have been established across the country. In many regions, snowfalls and frost have been replaced by fog and rain, which complicates the road situation.

Such conditions require drivers to exercise increased attention and caution. When driving in fog or rain, it is necessary to choose a safe speed, taking into account the condition of the roadway and visibility; in very dense fog, it may not exceed 20 km/h.

In conditions of poor visibility, it is necessary to maximise your presence on the road: turn on dipped headlights or fog lights, and the rear fog lamp. Increase the distance between moving vehicles, side clearance, and avoid sudden manoeuvres and braking.

Exercise particular caution when passing through intersections and pedestrian crossings. It should be remembered that the road surface can become wet and slippery even without rain due to condensation settling on the asphalt. It would be useful to recall the technique of stepped braking on slippery roads.

Pedestrians at night must make themselves visible with retro-reflective elements, and cyclists and drivers of horse-drawn vehicles must wear high-visibility vests!
