Representatives of OJSC "Izmeritel", ChTUP Vitstroytekhmash, Orsha Tool Plant, Lepel Repair and Mechanical Plant, and "Evistor" Plant took part from the Vitebsk region.

A meeting was held in the Government of the Ulyanovsk Region.

The meeting is a result of agreements reached by Alexander Subbotin and Alexey Russkikh during the XI Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia, which took place in Vitebsk.

Our regions have a very similar industrial and economic structure. We have chosen machine tool construction and mechanical engineering as priority areas for this visit. These sectors are highly developed in our region, with over 50 enterprises producing equipment for public utilities, agriculture, and components for machine tools. Other promising areas for cooperation include pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, composite manufacturing, food industry, and housing and communal services. The parties also agreed to develop cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian sphere.

The meeting was attended by Dmitry Novatsky, Chairman of the Committee for Economy of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, as well as the Chairmen of the Braslav and Lepel District Executive Committees.

Vitebsk and Ulyanovsk regions plan to sign a cooperation agreement at the XII Forum of Regions of Russia and Belarus in Nizhny Novgorod.
