A ceremonial meeting of the university council was held at VSU, dedicated to the university's anniversary.

The first deputy head of the Presidential Administration, Vladimir Pertsov, took part in the solemn meeting of the university council dedicated to the anniversary of VSU named after P. Masherov.

The first deputy head of the Presidential Administration read out the congratulatory address of the head of state.

– On my own behalf, I want to wish our alma mater, first and foremost, to remain as successful as it is, to maintain its leading position among all universities of the Republic of Belarus, which, in general, is happening now, – noted Vladimir Pertsov. – Coming here, I observe with pleasure the wonderful conditions in which students study, the sports facilities, living conditions, and leisure and amateur performance venues that are available here.

The first deputy head of the administration emphasized that the university is successfully coping with the export of services, as evidenced by the large number of foreign students studying here.

– It is also important that foreign students feel comfortable, like at home, receive education, absorb Belarusian culture, our mentality, and, upon returning to their homeland, will be conductors of our ideas, reliable partners in business, political ties, and humanitarian relations, – said Vladimir Pertsov.

During the solemn meeting of the university council, the rector of VSU, Valentina Bogatyreva, presented the university's badge of honour "For Distinction" to the famous alumnus.

Festive events dedicated to the 115th anniversary of Vitebsk State University named after P. Masherov are taking place these days in the regional centre.

The programme for the second day includes an open lecture by the Scientific Director of the Institute of Problems of Regional Economics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Economics, Professor, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences V. Okrepilov, and Doctor of the Federal Research Center "Institute of Problems of Regional Economics of the Russian Academy of Sciences", Doctor of Economics, Professor A. Shmatko.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Republic of Belarus, Bakhtovar Safarzoda, took part in the work of the dialogue platform held at the university.

The opening of the laboratory of technical graphics and methods of teaching drawing took place in academic building No. 4 of VSU.

The Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Subbotin, took part in the solemn meeting of the university council dedicated to the anniversary of VSU named after P. Masherov.

The head of the regional authority wished the faculty and students of the university to continue developing, maintain the high standards already achieved, and expand with new specializations, faculties, interesting projects, and scientific research.

– The Vitebsk State University largely helps us address our staffing needs. New specializations are being opened here. And looking at the stand with photographs of distinguished alumni, one can understand what kind of professionals are forged within these walls, – said Alexander Subbotin. – The students who study here always assist in ideological events, perform at concerts, and provide support to the agro-industrial complex. They do not need to be asked; they offer their help proactively, which is why it is invaluable. It is in such an atmosphere of mutual assistance that true citizens, true patriots, ready to help in any situation, are nurtured.
During the solemn meeting of the university council, the Rector of VSU, Valentina Bogatyreva, presented Alexander Subbotin with the university's badge of honor "For Merit" in gratitude for supporting all the best initiatives of the university.
