Activists of the BRSM (Belarusian Republican Youth Union) held an information picket near the "Marko-City" business center in Vitebsk, aimed at increasing voter turnout.
– Today marked the launch of the regional civic-patriotic marathon "#Ediny" (United), which includes a series of events dedicated to the electoral campaign, youth's knowledge of legal information and politics. This encompasses not only informational picketing but also open dialogues titled "Youth's Perspective on Elections," the legal game "The Power of Law," and the civic-patriotic action "Rodnoye-Narodnoye" (Native-National). This picket is designed to ensure our youth are well-versed in legal aspects and can inform voters about the unified voting day, so that on February 25th, young people will come and cast their votes for a particular candidate. We are confident that such events unite us all, not just the youth but also the older generation. I believe it is important for everyone to come and vote if we want to build a happy future, see beautiful cities and towns, and a peaceful and independent Belarus, – stated Zhanna Naritsyna, Second Secretary of the BRSM Regional Committee.
At the information picket, as part of the youth information and education project "Pashtouka.BEL" (Postcard.BEL), which started yesterday in Minsk, anyone could send a postcard-invitation titled "Let's Choose the Future Together!" to their addressee.
– Pickets are being held in all regions of the Vitebsk region, and the national project "Pashtouka.BEL" is being implemented to remind citizens of their constitutional right to vote, their civic responsibility, and the unified voting day – February 25th. Here, you can fill out an invitation postcard, write to a friend, family member, or acquaintance, and send it by mail free of charge. Subsequently, postal service employees of RUE "Belpochta" will deliver the correspondence to its destination. It can be sent not only within the Vitebsk region but also, for example, to Minsk or Brest. On the same day, the postal service sends the invitation to the addressees, – added Zhanna Naritsyna.
Ilya Maltsev, Second Secretary of the BRSM City Committee, noted that a similar event is taking place today in the Pervomaysky District of Vitebsk. The Youth Union is currently creating brochures for first-time voters. This is also aimed at maximizing their interest in the unified voting day.
