The best economists of state bodies and enterprises of the Vitebsk region were awarded Certificates of Honour and letters of appreciation of various levels.

– An economist is a worthy, important, and necessary profession. The work of an economist is not always noticeable, but it is precisely the correct thinking, assessment of regional development, and forecasting that determine the well-being of our people and the socio-economic development of each region, – emphasized the Deputy Chairperson of the regional executive committee, Anzhelika Nikitina. – Preliminary results for the first six months show that the Vitebsk region will fulfil almost all 15 out of 16 indicators set by the Council of Ministers. And, of course, the contribution of each person lies in the formation of such "assets". Currently, we have over-fulfilment in key indicators such as the formation of local budgets and wage growth. We estimate the economic growth at 115%.

Today, in almost every region, as per the instructions of the Head of State, the initiative "One District – One Project" is being implemented, and everyone, as the Deputy Chairperson emphasized, understands that there is no future without investment.

– Many projects are still ahead. Literally today, an investment agreement was signed for the project to create the fish processing enterprise "Morskiye Sezony" (Sea Seasons) in the FEZ Vitebsk, which will create about 300 jobs. We are working on a project to create chipboard panel production. The modernization of the enterprises of Verkhnedvinsk butter and cheese factory, Postavy dairy plant, and the construction of a logistics centre in the Vitebsk and Verkhnedvinsk districts will lead to new jobs and a decent wage level. This means our youth will not leave the district centres and will continue to work locally, – noted Anzhelika Nikitina.

In a solemn ceremony, the many years of diligent work and personal contribution to the socio-economic development of the 15 best economists of the Vitebsk region were recognised. Thus, Anzhelika Nikitina presented Certificates of Honour from the Ministry of Economy to Elena Babinskaya, Deputy Chairperson of the Braslav District Executive Committee, and Snezhana Semyonova, Deputy Chairperson of the Vitebsk District Executive Committee.

The Chairperson of the Committee for Economy of the regional executive committee, Veronika Zabolueva, congratulated her colleagues and wished the honourees the achievement of their goals, success in all their endeavours, and to count accurately.
