29 May, Minsk /BELTA correspondent/. A girl survived a fall from the 7th floor in Vitebsk, the Belarusian Ministry of Emergency Situations informed a BELTA correspondent. Around 9:20 PM on 28 May, a girl born in 2000 fell from the seventh-floor window of a multi-storey building on Maxim Gorky Street in Vitebsk. She fell six floors and landed on the canopy of an entrance. Ambulance crews arrived at the scene. The medics were unable to remove the fallen girl from the canopy on their own. Ministry of Emergency Situations workers carried her down on a stretcher and handed her over to the medics. The injured girl was urgently taken to the hospital. Fortunately, the girl survived. According to doctors, the girl sustained a traumatic brain injury and an open fracture of both tibias. As informed by the Head of the Pervomaisky District Department of Internal Affairs of Vitebsk, Oleg Tereshchenko, to a BELTA correspondent, the twelve-year-old Vitebsk resident attempted suicide in response to her parents' disciplinary measures. The schoolgirl brought a stolen T-shirt from a sanatorium holiday. The parents learned about the child's misconduct after a call from the health resort. It is unknown what disciplinary measures were taken by them, but the girl, left alone at home, jumped out of the apartment window. Law enforcement agencies are conducting a check on this fact, which may result in the previously considered quite prosperous family being placed on record, added Oleg Tereshchenko. -0-
