A regional charity event for children will be held in Vitebsk on December 28, the Education Department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee informed a BELTA correspondent.
950 children aged 8 to 14 from all districts of the region will take part in the main New Year's celebration at the "Vitebsk" Concert Hall. These are children who have won various Olympiads, creative and sports competitions, activists, children from large and low-income families, children left without parental care, and orphans. Each of them will receive a sweet New Year's gift in addition to pleasant impressions from the New Year's performance and a magical atmosphere on this day.
Another 200 children will attend republican New Year's celebrations, including 100 children at the Palace of Independence.
In total, more than 1,500 Christmas and New Year's matinees, celebrations, and other events for children of various categories from all educational institutions of the region are planned to be held in the Vitebsk region during the "Our Children" New Year's charity campaign. Representatives of executive and administrative authorities, public organizations, sponsors, and volunteers will be honoured guests in many social shelters, boarding schools, and family-type children's homes during these days.
The "Our Children" New Year's charity campaign started in Belarus and will last until January 11. Its main goal is to not leave a single child without attention.
