On September 12, Vitebsk /Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. Vitebsk residents will be able to see the works of 2011 by the Great Patriotic War veteran and artist Alexander Solovyov at the author's jubilee exhibition, BELTA was informed at the Vitebsk Center for Contemporary Art, where the exhibition is organized. The exposition "Revelation" features over 50 paintings and graphic works from the last decade, with a quarter of them being from this year. These include "My Fate," "Composition," "Requiem. In Memory of the Fallen," "Let There Be Light," and others. The majority of the exhibition's paintings are abstract, with their play of light and symbolic content reflecting the emotional imprint of the author's life. An attentive viewer will be able to see parallels in them with the years of wartime hardship, the creatively rich period of work at the Yanka Kupala Vitebsk Theatre, and other significant periods of the artist's life. The exhibition is open from September 12. However, its grand presentation with congratulations to Alexander Solovyov will take place on September 14, the day after his 85th birthday. The works can be viewed until October 9. Alexander Alexandrovich Solovyov, Honored Artist of the BSSR, is a participant of the Great Patriotic War, awarded the Order of the Red Star and commemorative medals for Victory in the Great Patriotic War. From 1965, he worked as a set designer at the Yanka Kupala National Academic Drama Theatre, and later as the theatre's chief artist. He designed over 800 performances for his home theatre. Despite his advanced age, he is an active participant in city, regional, republican, and international exhibitions.-0-
