An oblast exhibition-competition dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War will open at the Vitebsk Regional Methodological Centre of Folk Art on February 4, BELTA was informed by the institution.
An oblast exhibition-competition dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War will open at the Vitebsk Regional Methodological Centre of Folk Art on February 4, BELTA was informed by the institution.
Works will be presented at the centre in the following nominations: "A Gift to a Veteran" (creative works, compositions, souvenirs), "The Trace of War in the History of My Family and Country" (portrayal of heroes and their deeds, tragic and heroic episodes during the war years), "Victory Salute" (display of military equipment, festive procession), and "Descendants" (portrayal of peaceful life, post-war achievements, pride in home front workers).
The exhibition will feature works by masters from Vitebsk, Sharkovshchyna, Dokshytsy, Polotsk, Miory, Glubokoye, Dubrovno, and the Vitebsk district. Embroidered pictures, items made of straw and ceramics, paintings, and panels will be presented to the public.
In addition, the Methodological Centre will host a personal exhibition dedicated to the 80th birthday of Sofia Shlykova, a former child prisoner of war and a labour veteran. She will showcase her works in cross-stitch and satin stitch embroidery, as well as crochet and knitting.
