A decorative and applied arts and technical creativity exhibition by students and staff of secondary vocational education institutions and additional education for children and youth has opened at the Vitebsk State Technological University. The regional stage of the republican review of innovative and technical creativity is being held within its framework.

"This is probably the best career guidance event," noted Vyacheslav Durnov, Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee. "Here, there is an opportunity to examine in detail the art objects created by both teachers and students with their own hands. The exhibition exhibits make a great impression. We have created an excellent foundation for technical creativity, and we have teachers who share their enthusiasm with the students."

Elena Shishkina, Head of the Main Department for Methodological Support of the Vitebsk Regional Centre for Vocational Education Development, reported that such an exhibition has been held in Vitebsk for over three decades. Moreover, our region has repeatedly become the leader in the number of diplomas at the republican stage.

This year, the exhibition features 1000 exhibits created in various genres and techniques. Many works reflect the themes of the Year of Improvement and the 80th Anniversary of Victory. One of the brightest and most ambitious expositions was prepared by the Vitebsk State College of Light Industry and Technology.

"The exhibits were created by final-year students under the guidance of teachers," Elena Kuchinskaya, the institution's director, told "VV". "Some of them are graduation theses of the graduates. Our college trains fashion designers and pattern makers. Preparation for the exhibition helps students become more highly qualified specialists."

As emphasised by Dmitry Khoma, Head of the Main Department for Education of the Regional Executive Committee, groups of high school students will regularly visit the exhibition. An excursion programme has been prepared for them.
