The initiator of the establishment of the Vitebsk Region Media Centre is the Main Department of Ideological Work and Youth Affairs of the Regional Executive Committee. It is located in the House of Press, where the editorial offices of the northern region's central newspapers are situated. The partner of the Main Department and another curator of this project is the regional newspaper "Vitebskiye Vesti".

The Media Centre will serve as a platform for training media representatives, local authorities, and youth. Meetings with speakers, seminars, conferences, workshops, and training sessions will be held here, where specialists will exchange experience in both media interaction and the development of the media sphere of regional, city, and district print publications.

For schoolchildren involved in journalism-focused interest groups, students and faculty of Vitebsk State University named after P.M. Masherov will conduct master classes, including those on video content creation. The university has extensive experience in this field.

"Regarding the development of the media centre, we plan to establish a training laboratory on its basis, which will be equipped with all the necessary equipment for work, including in online mode. In general, we expect this platform to bring together representatives not only of state media but also of the blogosphere. I believe we can mutually enrich each other in the information sphere," said Marina Novitskaya, Head of the Main Department of Ideological Work and Youth Affairs of the Regional Executive Committee.

During the opening of the media centre, which was attended by the Minister of Information of Belarus, Vladimir Pertsov, print publications presented their developments and shared how they are conquering the media space.

The Head of the Ministry of Information congratulated the participants of the ceremony. "We will analyse the experience of the Vitebsk Region Media Centre and replicate it in other regions," he noted.
