The country's first regional Alley of Unity has opened in the northern capital.
The event was held as part of the large-scale national campaign "Symbol of Unity - 2023", organised by the Public Association "Patriots of Belarus". Its aim is to consolidate civil society around a single idea of peace and creation under the symbols of the regions. To facilitate the expression of the identity of different corners of Belarus within the unified and integral originality of our state.
The Regional Alley of Unity is located at the cultural and sports complex of the Summer Amphitheatre: flags of the districts of the Vitebsk region proudly fly on flagpoles in the city centre. The solemn ceremony was attended by the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Alexander Subbotin, the Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies Vladimir Terentyev, the Aide to the President - Inspector for the Vitebsk Region Igor Brylo, and heads of regional, city, and district executive committees.
— This event is taking place on the eve of the Day of National Unity – a holiday that emphasizes the continuity of generations of Belarusians and the involvement of each of us in the fate of our Motherland, — said Alexander Subbotin. — Today, more than ever, the consolidation of society is important, as ideas of peace and creation are strengthened only through concrete common deeds. We proudly call ourselves citizens of the Republic of Belarus. The concept of the "Belarusian people" is based on the great spiritual brotherhood of all for whom our generous, beautiful, and kind land has become a home.
— We have been organising various large-scale campaigns for several years to demonstrate the unity of Belarusians. For example, in 2021, we helped farmers with the harvest on a voluntary basis. This initiative was recognised at the highest level: the Head of State presented us with the "For Spiritual Revival" award, — noted the Chairman of the Public Association "Patriots of Belarus" Nikolai Zarubitsky. — In 2023, we travelled to all 118 regions of the country under the banner "We are all a single mechanism", and this autumn we embarked on a similar journey to show each other how different and unique we are, yet united.
The head of the region and his colleagues from the city and district executive committees handed over the symbols of the northern province and its regions to the participants of the national motor rally, which started in Minsk under the auspices of the "Patriots of Belarus". Following the campaign, a pan-Belarusian Alley of Unity will be established in the capital, featuring flags of the country's districts and cities. Its visitors will be able to access information about any region and its attractions online by scanning the corresponding QR code.
