250 thousand rubles were invested in the acquisition of equipment and current repairs.

– In recent years, there has been much criticism directed at Hospital No. 1. This medical institution is under regional jurisdiction, serving patients from Vitebsk and the region, but it lacked a good laboratory. 60% of laboratory tests were performed at the regional diagnostic and cardiology centers. The updated laboratory will now allow all necessary examinations, including highly specialized ones, to be carried out directly within the institution, which will reduce the time for their completion several times, – noted Mikhail Vishnevetsky, Head of the Main Department for Healthcare of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.

During the reconstruction, the planned and emergency laboratories were merged and equipped with state-of-the-art laboratory diagnostic equipment, enabling the full spectrum of clinical, biochemical, and hematological tests. However, the hospital does not utilize the full capabilities of the analyzers, so the issue of the laboratory providing services to other medical institutions is being considered. It has already been decided that analyses for City Polyclinic No. 5, which will move to an adjacent building connected to Hospital No. 1 by an overhead walkway this year, will be performed here.

– Renovations at the institution will continue until the end of the year. Repairs and modernization of the anesthesiology and intensive care unit, which is important for us, are underway with a 100% equipment replacement. Current repairs will be carried out in the cardiology department and the facility's "face" – the reception area, – reported Andrey Kakoychenko, Chief Physician of Vitebsk City Clinical Hospital No. 1.

In addition to the reconstruction of Vitebsk City Clinical Hospital No. 1 and the upcoming relocation of Polyclinic No. 5 in Vitebsk, a new Orsha Central Polyclinic is planned to be commissioned by the end of the year. Reconstruction of the Regional Infectious Diseases Hospital has begun, and construction and installation work in the operating and intensive care unit of the Regional Clinical Hospital will commence after project approval, according to the Head of the Regional Healthcare Department.
