A "Guest Card" centre's representative office has opened in Vitebsk near the City Hall, at 2 Suvorova Street, BELTA correspondent reports.
Tourists and residents of Belarus will be able to purchase a guest card here starting today. Its holders will receive various bonuses and discounts when visiting museums and galleries in Vitebsk and district centres of the region, and when staying in the region's agro-tourism estates. Discounts reach up to 50%. The card's creators expect it to contribute to the development of domestic tourism.
"Several types and formats of cards have been developed, including for guests of the II European Games. A guest card can be purchased at points of sale, as well as online. The project is popular in Minsk, and we hope it will also be of interest in the regions," noted Boris Vasiliev, Director of UP "Mingorspravka". "The number of tourist facilities across the country included in the project is approaching 700. In the Vitebsk region, there are about 70. We expect the number of project participants to reach 1,000 by the end of the year."
In addition, the enterprise plans to discuss possible formats for promoting the guest card during the "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" festival with the festival's management.
Vitebsk has become the third regional centre to have a regional representative office of the guest card. Prior to this, offices were opened in Mogilev and Grodno, with Gomel next in line.
The tourist project "Guest Card. Cities and Regions of Belarus" (Minsk Card. Cities&Regions of Belarus) is being implemented by "Mingorspravka" with the support of the Ministry of Sport and Tourism, the Ministry of Culture, the Minsk City Executive Committee and regional executive committees, and the "Minsk" Information and Tourist Centre under the state programme for tourism development "Belarus Welcoming" for 2016-2020. It involves museums, galleries, zoos, water parks, hotels, restaurants, agro-tourism estates, cafes, retail outlets, and car and bicycle rental services, which provide bonuses and discounts.
