The Vitebsk Regional Committee of the BRSM has summed up the results of the third working semester.
– Every year, the student team movement attracts more and more young people. With shining eyes, they share their impressions of their working days, and by their example, they show their peers that it is possible to combine both study and work, and how one can be useful to society. Student teams unite and foster a love for their native land and country. This is very important, – noted Sergey Levkovich, Aide to the President – Inspector for the Vitebsk Region.
– Student teams today acquire a special meaning. The youth of the Vitebsk Region always actively participate in international, republican, and regional projects. Now our fighters are working on the construction of a patriotic center in Brest. At one time, they built a cosmodrome, and now they have returned from the construction of the Baikal-Amur Mainline. Participation in such projects is a good school of life, where young men and women acquire knowledge and experience. After all, those who have built something with their own hands, those who have chosen the path of creative labor, will never destroy. Student team fighters are a forge of personnel, they are our future, – noted Dmitry Demidov, Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies.
– The third working semester is the most long-awaited time for student team members. According to the results of the working semester, over 7 thousand people were employed in the Vitebsk Region, who worked as part of construction, agricultural, pedagogical, environmental, service, medical, and production student teams. A significant event was the launch of the regional youth construction project. Its object was the road surface of Orekhovskaya Street. The fighters carried out road works (installation of curbs, tiles), – noted Zhanna Naritsyna, First Secretary of the Regional Committee of the BRSM.
The youth event brought together over 1.5 thousand people – student team fighters, commanders and commissars of territorial headquarters, veterans of the movement and heads of organizations hosting student teams, as well as representatives of the regional Youth Parliament and a delegation of children from Donbas, who arrived in the Vitebsk region as part of the humanitarian project "Children – Childhood without War!".
Based on the results of the third working semester, the best commanders, commissars, territorial headquarters, and student teams were recognized. Thus, among the awardees is the service student team "Molniya" named after the Hero of the Soviet Union Alexey Patrin.
– This summer, we worked at the "Lesnaya Skazka" children's health camp. I helped install lighting equipment, and my knowledge in my specialty "technician-electromechanic" was very useful. The girls worked in the kitchen, – noted the detachment commander Pavel Truhan. – For me, being in a student detachment is an opportunity to try myself in one activity or another, to understand what interests me professionally.
