The award ceremony for the laureates of the regional quality award for 2023 was held in Vitebsk.
In the Year of Quality, it is particularly important to focus on further improving the standard of living, ensuring the competitiveness of manufactured products, stimulating initiative, and fostering a sense of responsibility for the results of one's labor and a sense of belonging to the country's future within society. These priorities have been outlined by the Head of State. The traditional regional award for achievements in quality is one of these stimulating events.
– The main assessment of your work, of course, is made by the economy, the market, and life itself, – emphasized the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Subbotin, at the award ceremony. – It is composed of various components, but the main criterion is quality, which is assessed by the people who use your services or consume your products. As the results of the Vitebsk region's economy for 2023 show, our products are in demand not only in domestic but also in foreign markets. Industrial production volumes have increased by 4.3% compared to 2022, about 40% of shipped products are innovative, and exports have increased by more than 1.5 times. Quality ensures the competitiveness of our goods or services, and the 2024 Year of Quality, declared by the Head of State, will contribute to the advancement of our economy and the improvement of people's well-being. Today, the main task for the real sector of the economy is to increase the competitiveness of products and services by implementing high-tech projects and reducing costs. The final result depends largely on all of us. Everyone must start with themselves: do their job on time and with high quality.
The Head of the region, together with the Chairman of the Regional Employers' Union, Vladimir Turavinov, presented awards and diplomas to the best enterprises and managers of the region.
Among the organizations producing non-food products, the title of laureate was awarded to SOOO "Belvest", OJSC "Vitebskiye Kovry", "Orsha Machine-Tool Plant "Krasny Borets", PUP "Nit'" of the NGO "Belarusian Association of the Deaf", OJSC "Invet". Among the enterprises providing services, UP "Vitebskoblgaz" received this honor. OJSC "Vitebskhlebprom", "Postavy Dairy Plant", "Keramika", UPP "Verkhny Lug" confirmed this high title.
The director of "Krasny Borrets", Vitaly Krutko, did not hide that winning in two nominations at once, as the best enterprise and as the best manager, is doubly pleasant, and at the same time responsible.
– No matter how hard a manager tries to be at the forefront of events, the final result is still influenced by the work of the entire team, the whole crew. Here I adhere to the well-known saying "One man is no man". Relying on competent and active staff, we manage to achieve a lot. All the enterprise's products, and this is a wide range of grinding machines (there are over a hundred models), are import-substituting, with no analogues in our country. We export 80% of the manufactured surface grinders, spline grinders, internal grinders and other machines to Russia, Turkey, and Kazakhstan. Speaking of quality, I will give such a fact. On each of our machines, a part can be manufactured with an accuracy of up to one micron. For three consecutive years, one of the manufactured types of machines has been the winner in the "Best Product" nomination. This time, a cylindrical grinding machine was honored with such an award, – Vitaly Krutko shared with a correspondent of "VV".
The General Director of "Vitebskiye Kovry", Artem Lokhankin, expressed a similar view.
– An enterprise with a history of over 120 years is simply obliged to participate in such prestigious competitions and nominations and to win, – he emphasized. – These are the achievements of the entire team. Last year alone, we produced more than 20 types of carpet products. And we started the current year successfully, having mastered six new collections of woven carpets, which will allow us to increase the volume of export supplies.
The large number of enterprises noted in the "Best Products of the Republic of Belarus" nomination suggests that the enterprises of the Vitebsk region produce competitive, high-quality products. Polotsk and Glubokoye dairy and cheese products were highly appreciated, and the Postavy and Tolochin dairy and cheese products also received a special award "New Product of the Year". Belvest footwear, and products of the Energokomplekt production association were recognized as the best in the industry. Vitebskiye Kovry, Belarusian Leather and Footwear Company Marko, Polimir plant of Naftan OJSC, and others were awarded a special prize for their success in import substitution.
The event was attended by Elena Morgunova, First Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Standardization of the Republic of Belarus.
