Representatives of the city and district emergency services of the region received keys to modern vehicles.
Two fire tankers AC 5.0-40(5309) based on MAZ chassis have been allocated to the rescuers. The new equipment has been handed over to the Vitebsk City Department for Emergency Situations and the Orsha City and District Department for Emergency Situations.
In addition, the fleet of district departments has been replenished with seven LADA Niva Legend passenger cars. The vehicles have been dispatched to the Sharkovshchina, Dubrovno, Dokshytsy, Ushachy, Senno, Orsha, and Postavy district departments.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Emergency Situations units received three MAZ "Kupava" 2331N2 command vehicles, which will be used by the Vitebsk City, Orsha City, and Glubokoye Departments for Emergency Situations.
The event also included an award ceremony for the best employees of the emergency services and units, dedicated to the 27th anniversary of the service's establishment and the professional holiday for those who guard our lives – Rescuer's Day.
– It is a pleasure for me to meet with you again in this solemn setting. We have clearly organised and coordinated the system for preventing and responding to emergencies, within the framework of the state civil defence system. It is important for us to continue our work in cooperation with all economic entities and authorities. I want you to proudly bear the title of rescuer and serve with honour for the benefit of the security of our native Belarus. Discipline and responsibility at your posts will allow us not only to maintain our current position but also to multiply the results achieved, – noted the Head of the Regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Colonel of the Internal Service Sergey Meshkoleshin.
Over 30 employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Vitebsk region were recognised with letters of gratitude, certificates, and medals for their high professionalism, dedicated service, and contribution to ensuring public safety.
