"We treat the vehicles three times a day. Washing each tram takes about five minutes. We perform dry and wet cleaning, and also disinfect the interior by spraying all surfaces that people touch – walls, windows, seats, and handrails. We have sufficient supplies for this procedure," noted Petr Kashkar.
Specialists work in protective suits, respirators, gloves, and goggles. The effectiveness of the vehicle treatment is periodically checked by employees of the Centre for Hygiene and Epidemiology.
Drivers are responsible for maintaining order at their workplaces. They can perform necessary hygiene procedures at dispatch stations upon arrival for work and between routes.
More than 100 trolleybuses and trams operate in the city daily. All vehicle depots in the Vitebsk region carry out similar treatment of their transport.
