A sentence has been passed in Vitebsk on a construction crew involved in car thefts, Dmitry Orekhva, Deputy Prosecutor of Pervomaisky District of Vitebsk, informed a BELTA correspondent. From February to April 27 of this year, three Vitebsk residents born in 1990, 1991, and 1992, who worked in various construction organizations of the regional center, formed a partnership not for creative purposes. The young men began stealing from cars in different districts of the city, taking batteries, tool kits, mobile phones, etc. Before law enforcement officers managed to apprehend them, the perpetrators managed to commit six thefts, causing a total damage of about Br20 million to the car owners. Taking into account the voluntary compensation of damages, positive references from their workplaces, and active assistance to the investigation, the two most active participants were sentenced to fines of Br20 million each, and their accomplice to a fine of Br15 million. -0-
