This was reported to BelTA by Anna Banadyk, Senior Inspector for Special Assignments of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus. The accident occurred on May 14 at 6:00 AM. A 55-year-old citizen of Armenia (residing in Russia), driving a Ford Mondeo, failed to yield to a MAN truck when exiting a secondary road. As a result of the collision, the car driver died at the scene, and his passenger (a 33-year-old woman, a citizen of Russia) passed away several hours later in the hospital. In total, over the past 24 hours, 242 traffic accidents with material damage occurred on the roads of Belarus, and inspectors detained 129 drivers for drunk driving. -0-
