Br2.3 trillion is planned to be allocated from all sources of funding for the implementation of energy-saving measures in the Vitebsk region in 2013, the Vitebsk Regional Department for Supervision of Rational Use of Fuel and Energy Resources informed a BELTA correspondent.
In particular, Br21.3 billion will be allocated from the national budget for financing energy-saving programs.
One of the most important areas of work is related to increasing the use of local fuels. In this regard, it is planned to reconstruct boiler houses in the region's housing and communal services system with the introduction of additional boilers with mechanized loading, which will reduce natural gas consumption during the year and increase the share of local fuels in the fuel balance from 55% (as of the end of 2012) to 67.8% by the end of 2013. Vitebskenergo RUP is also implementing a project to build a mini-CHP plant using local fuels at the Orsha CHPP (Baran boiler house).
In order to increase secondary resources in the region's fuel balance in 2013, Naftan OJSC plans to complete the work on utilizing flue gas heat at the AT-8 unit, and Vitebskdrev OJSC plans to install a 3.5 MW boiler using wood waste.
A number of projects are being implemented by other large industrial enterprises in the region. For example, Lepel Dairy and Canned Goods Plant OJSC plans to install new equipment that will allow the enterprise to reduce fuel and energy consumption, and Novopolotskzhilezobeton PRUP plans to complete a project to create a mini-CHP plant with the installation of a 0.78 MW steam back-pressure turbine.
A large set of measures is also to be implemented in other sectors of the national economy. At the same time, the declaration of 2013 as the Year of Thrift will become a stimulating factor for all heads of enterprises and organizations for effective planning and implementation of their activities, and will encourage the introduction of modern energy-saving technologies, the department noted. -0-
