30 October, Vitebsk /Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. During the autumn holidays, 12,000 children will rest in school camps in the Vitebsk region, the head of the education department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Ivan Shchurok, informed a BELTA correspondent.
Children from large, low-income, and single-parent families will primarily be able to rest in these camps. Br1.1 billion has been allocated from the State Social Security Fund for their catering.
Traditionally, alongside the operation of school camps during the holidays, a regional programme of events for schoolchildren is being implemented in the region, as well as a specific event plan in each educational institution. Participation in these events will provide teenagers with engaging activities and leave them with many pleasant impressions. For example, excursions to memorable places in the Vitebsk region and other regions of Belarus are planned. On 1-2 November, the regional athletics and basketball championships will be held. Hobby clubs and sports sections will be actively operating. Creative youth will be engaged in preparing and holding concerts, cultural and entertainment, educational programmes and festivals, and intellectual tournaments during these days. BRSM activists will also help children find activities to their liking in their free time from studies.
Thus, schoolchildren can expect a fulfilling holiday that will allow them to gain strength for the continuation of the academic year and achieve new successes, concluded Ivan Shchurok.-0-
