Current issues of socio-economic development of the Vitebsk region will be discussed at a seminar on January 4-5, the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee informed a BELTA correspondent.
Participants of the event, including the leadership of the regional executive committee, chairmen of district and city executive committees, heads of administrations of Vitebsk districts, chairmen of city and district councils of deputies, will visit Gorodok, Shumilino, Glubokoe, and Ushachi districts, and Novopolotsk.
In the Gorodok district, it is planned to consider the development prospects of the "Losvido" tourist and health resort complex, the system of work on strengthening the material and technical base of the district's educational institutions, as well as the development and self-sufficiency of sports facilities. In the Shumilino district, issues of public health improvement through physical culture and sports will be discussed. The discussion will also cover the development of combat sports and team sports.
In Novopolotsk, seminar participants will visit the central city hospital to learn about modern technologies for providing medical care to citizens and residents of adjacent districts. In addition, familiarization with Novopolotsk's experience in organizing catering in educational institutions and other areas is planned. Problems and prospects for the development of agro-ecotourism will be considered on the basis of the Glubokoe district. In Ushachi, a visit to the "Proryv" memorial complex and the modern "Yunost" physical culture and health complex is planned.
