Winners of the drawing competition "Labour Protection Through the Eyes of Children" have been determined in the Vitebsk region, as reported to BELTA by Oleg Berezyak, Chief State Labour Inspector of the Vitebsk Regional Department of the State Labour Inspectorate Department of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection.
The competition was held throughout the year among preschool institutions and schools in the Vitebsk region. Over 100 works were submitted to the regional stage based on the results of preliminary regional stages conducted by education departments. Educational institutions of Gluboksky, Dubrovensky, Polotsky, Senno, Chashniksky districts, Novopolotsk, and the Zheleznodorozhny and Oktyabrsky districts of Vitebsk showed particular activity.
The children's drawings are dedicated to the themes of safety in production, agriculture, medicine, education, transport, trade, and other fields of activity. "The submitted works are executed in various techniques and styles, have interesting colour and compositional solutions, and good content. Compared to the works of the 2011 competition, the subject matter and techniques of the drawings have expanded. For example, a considerable number of posters were submitted," noted Oleg Berezyak, adding that in this regard, the jury decided to allocate them a separate nomination.
The winners in the "Preschool Institutions" nomination were kindergarten No. 7 in Chashniki (Education Department of the Chashniksky District Executive Committee, work by Dasha Samsonova "Dad, don't rush!"); in the "Schools" nomination - Zautievskaya Kindergarten-Secondary School (Education Department of the Miory District Executive Committee, work by Polina Baslak "Observe safety rules"); in the "Posters" nomination - Secondary School No. 1 of Novopolotsk (Education Department of the Novopolotsk City Executive Committee, work by Polina Romanova "Don't just know the rules, but follow them strictly").
The annual competition "Labour Protection Through the Eyes of Children" is held with the aim of popularising the fine arts creativity of students, broadening children's general horizons, and drawing students' attention to labour protection issues, as well as fostering an attitude of intolerance towards labour protection requirements violations among children and adolescents. Its organisers are the Education Department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee and the Vitebsk Regional Department of the State Labour Inspectorate Department of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection.-0-
