This summer, a total of 35 stationary camps with round-the-clock stay for children, 13 camps in rented premises, and specialized camps with a nine-day stay, which will accommodate 24 thousand children and adolescents during the season, will operate in the region. Additionally, 630 day camps will operate, where 31 thousand children will rest. The first to open their doors in the region were the day camps "Magistral" and "Telekom" (Vitebsk district) and the camp of RUEP "Vitebskoblgaz" (Shumilino district), which accommodated 700 children and adolescents. Also, 480 day camps have started their work. In them, 24 thousand schoolchildren will rest during the first shift. "The majority of the camps will open in the region before June 15. Currently, their active acceptance is underway," noted Elena Andreykova, adding that Br534.4 million has been allocated from the state social insurance funds for the preparation of facilities to receive children, and Br960 million from the regional budget. In addition, Br2.5 billion earned during the republican subbotnik will be directed to these purposes. The main part of the sum from the latter source of funding will go to strengthen the material and technical base of the "Vityaz" camp, which the joint-stock company of the same name is transferring to communal ownership.-0-
