Young employees of the Vitebsk Regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations took the oath in a solemn ceremony.
Today, the ranks of rescuers in the Vitebsk region have been replenished. The oath-taking ceremony for 44 new employees took place in a solemn atmosphere. Young men and women in Vitebsk, Orsha, and Polotsk pledged allegiance to the Motherland. Among them is one female representative. She is an officer – an inspector of propaganda for the Rossony District Department for Emergency Situations.
In Vitebsk, 14 recruits were accepted into the ranks of rescuers at the Regional Museum of Hero of the Soviet Union M.F. Shmyrev. "I swear allegiance to the Republic of Belarus and its people. I vow to sacredly observe the Constitution. To uphold the honour and dignity of employees of emergency bodies and units. To protect the lives and health of people. I pledge to be courageous, honest, and selfless" – these words are very important for firefighter-rescuers. Each of them understands the responsibility that rests on their shoulders. Ahead of the employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations lie the arduous trials of working days, but they are ready to fight for the lives of citizens and their colleagues.
"The day of the oath is significant for every man. As for any young person who considers himself a defender of the Fatherland. One who will take responsibility for the defence of our country in a difficult moment. The oath is a very moving moment. I remember myself in the place of today's recruits when, in 1997, in Minsk, I took the same oath on the parade ground of the Higher Fire and Technical School of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Besides excitement, I felt pride in being able to join the ranks of rescuers. I understood that I would be of service to my homeland. I want to wish the new rescuers to be courageous, fearless, to love their family, their Motherland," shared the Deputy Head of the Regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Sergey Markevich.
