On June 13, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. Eight centralized testing centres have been opened in the Vitebsk region, as reported to BELTA correspondent by Vasily Maksimov, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Control Committee. The testing centres are located at the Vitebsk State Technological University, Vitebsk State University named after P.M. Masherov, Vitebsk State Medical University, Vitebsk State Academy of Veterinary Medicine, Vitebsk State Technical College, Polotsk State University, Novopolotsk State Polytechnic College, and Orsha State Mechanical-Economic College. According to Vasily Maksimov, preparatory work for the testing has been carried out at a high level. Comfortable conditions have been created for applicants to take the tests. All testing centres have catering facilities and medical stations. A total of 41,040 participants have registered for testing at these centres in the region this year, which is 2,383 fewer than last year. To monitor the centralized testing process, the Regional Control Committee and the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee have established commissions at the testing centres. In addition to the permanent staff of the Control Committee, representatives of local executive and administrative bodies, law enforcement officers, employees of educational institutions, and representatives of the "BRSM" public association will oversee each examination hall. The Control Committee has additionally involved over 400 people in public oversight. The main goal of such control is to ensure equal opportunities for applicants to enter state higher and secondary vocational education institutions, protect their legal rights and interests, promptly and efficiently address inquiries regarding testing and admission to educational institutions, and take measures stipulated by law for identified violations. Hotlines will be operational at the Regional Control Committee and inter-district committees in Polotsk and Orsha. As Vasily Maksimov noted, the number of calls to the hotlines has significantly decreased in recent years. In his opinion, this is due to the transparency of the admission campaign, as well as the extensive work of educational institutions, both schools and universities, in preparing graduates for centralized testing. -0-
