The introduction of the fee until January 1, 2025, is stipulated by the Decision of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies dated December 30, 2022, No. 358. The rate is one base value, which, as a reminder, has been 37 rubles since January 1st.
Certain categories of citizens will not have to pay the fee. These include: representatives of Belarusian state bodies crossing the border on official duty; foreigners and stateless persons arriving in our country at the invitation of state bodies, state organizations, as well as those visiting Belarus under the visa-free regime for attending the "Slavianski Bazaar". In addition, veterans of the Great Patriotic War, veterans of combat operations in other countries, and persons accompanying disabled individuals are exempt from payment. Furthermore, individuals who received medical assistance in Belarusian hospitals or underwent health improvement in our sanatoriums will not have to pay it.
The full list of categories of citizens exempt from paying the fee can be read on the National Legal Internet Portal. The list of necessary documents to be presented by those crossing the border to receive the benefit is also provided there.
The legal act enters into force on the 1st day of the month following the month of its official publication.
As a reminder, until January 1st of the current year, a local fee for crossing the border was levied in the Vitebsk, Gomel, Grodno, and Brest regions.
