On November 14, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. A territorial defence training assembly is being held today in the Vitebsk region. This was announced today to journalists by Ruslan Shkodin, Head of the Territorial Defence Department - Deputy Military Commissar of the Military Commissariat of the Vitebsk Region, as reported by a BELTA correspondent. More than 70 people took part in the assembly. Among them were heads of the region's security agencies, and chairmen of district and city executive committees. Representatives of military commissariats and officials of authorities from other regions and Minsk, as well as the Ministry of Defence, were also invited to share their experience. The assembly opened with an organizational meeting of participants, at which Alexander Kosinets, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, summed up the results of the measures taken to improve territorial defence in the Vitebsk region in 2012 and defined the tasks for the next year. The programme will continue with practical sessions held throughout the day. For example, participants will be familiarised with the organisation of service at a checkpoint on Beshenkovichi Highway. At one of the enterprises of "Vitebskoblgaz", the procedure for admitting personnel to territorial troops with the deployment of admission points will be demonstrated. At the oil product storage depot No. 1 of RUP "Belorusneft-Vitebskobleneftoprodukt", a session will be held on organising the security of a territorial defence facility, the planned preventive surveillance system, access and internal facility regimes, as well as the elimination of consequences of sabotage with a demonstration of special equipment. A firearms training session will take place at the shooting range of the patrol and post service regiment of the Main Department of Internal Affairs of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee. The main objectives of the assembly are to improve the training of personnel and the coordinated actions of units involved in territorial defence tasks, as well as to enhance the methods and procedures for officials of management bodies in organising territorial defence at the local level.-0-
