Centralised examination and centralised testing have commenced in the Vitebsk region.

The first centralised examination was taken this Monday by graduates of schools, gymnasiums, lyceums, and cadet schools.

The examination marathon began with subjects chosen by the students. In the Vitebsk region, the CE and CT were held simultaneously at four centres. For example, at the Vitebsk State Technological University, where a total of over 2,400 applicants registered this year, reported Ekaterina Goncharova, deputy chairperson of the organising committee.

— The largest number of students are taking subjects such as mathematics, chemistry, biology, and foreign languages, — she explained. — In particular, about 240 people will take mathematics, as it is required for admission for many.

An hour before the exam, classes accompanied by teachers were actively approaching the university buildings to present documents and find the necessary аудитории without haste. Although it is difficult to avoid some nervousness on such a day, almost all the students were geared up for success.

— I feel upbeat, I can handle it, it wasn't for nothing that I prepared for a whole year, — said Polina Semenova from Vitebsk Secondary School No. 31 named after V. K. Khoruzhey. The girl took chemistry. She plans to enter the medical faculty of the medical university on a targeted training basis.

— I am taking mathematics, I am more or less confident in my abilities, — shared Alexander Sochnev from the Vitebsk Cadet School. — I prepared, attended elective classes, and revised my notes. I am going to the exam with a clear head.

The cadet dreams of continuing his studies at the Ryazan Guards Higher Airborne Command School named after V. F. Margelov.

Vladimir Godyatsky, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Control Committee, who heads the region's commission for monitoring the preparation and conduct of the admission campaign, emphasised:

— Students should rely solely on their knowledge and not bring any information devices into the аудитории. Our controllers are working at each testing centre; we inspected all the аудитории yesterday, so we are ready to ensure a safe and fair examination for students and applicants.

Medical personnel, law enforcement agencies, and control commissions are also ready for the CE and CT to proceed as planned, noted Vladimir Godyatsky.

— We are simultaneously conducting the centralized testing and the centralized examination, but in separate streams, — he said. — There is an innovation this year: reserve days are provided for those who violate the rules and are removed. But these students will only be able to take exams for colleges afterwards.

The Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Control Committee admitted that he still remembers his final exams, although many years have passed since then:

— Of course, there were no such centralized events back then, we took exams quite prosaically: we came to school, wrote an essay or drew tickets and answered. To be honest, I wasn't too worried — I studied well, so it was all quite easy for me. I took my exams at Secondary School No. 30 on Gagarin Street.

It doesn't matter what grades the current graduates get in the CE, because the most important exam is ahead: how life turns out, believes Vladimir Godyatsky.

— This is, of course, related to good study habits, but it is more important to be confident, set goals and achieve them, — he clarified.
