The third working semester has been solemnly opened in the Vitebsk region

This is an interesting time to spend with benefit, as time has chosen you! These parting words were addressed to the student teams of the Vitebsk region by Vyacheslav Durnov, Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, at the grand opening of the third labour semester.

– We are opening the third labour semester, which is eagerly awaited by young people ready to benefit the state and help people with their competencies. And this is a great undertaking: you will have the opportunity to live in the rhythm of the country, participate in international, republican, and regional projects, work at enterprises, build facilities, treat people, and educate children, – noted Vyacheslav Durnov. – We have gathered in a sacred place, because this year is significant. Belarus has lived under a peaceful sky for 80 years, we honour the Banner of Victory, which flies over our square.

Vyacheslav Durnov presented vouchers for the labour summer to the regional headquarters and distinguished student teams, wishing the participants not only to spend their time beneficially but also to find true friends and allies in their professional endeavours, and for some, to find love.

– We are making every effort to ensure that everyone who wishes to do so is employed in student teams. This year, it is planned to employ over 6,000 young men and women in the Vitebsk region as part of pedagogical, construction, agricultural, service, production, medical, and environmental student teams. Currently, young people are already working at the All-Russian Children's Centre "Orlyonok" as part of pedagogical and service teams. Our youth will work not only in Belarus but also abroad – on the international labour project "BAM 2.0" and in children's camps in the Republic of Tatarstan, – emphasized Zhanna Naritsyna, First Secretary of the Regional Committee of the BRSM.

A special venue for "Labour Summer – 2024" will be the regional youth construction project in Vitebsk. The participants will be involved in the reconstruction of Ward No. 2 of the Vitebsk Regional Clinical Infectious Diseases Hospital. Employment is also planned for the production labour project "Atlant 2024", the medical labour project "Medicus", the production labour project "Avtozavodets 2024", the interdisciplinary labour project "Traktorostroitel 2024", and the All-Belarusian Youth Construction Project "Patriotic Centre".

Youth of the northern region and distinguished guests laid flowers at the Memorial Complex to the Liberators of Vitebsk – Soviet soldiers, partisans, and underground fighters. Afterwards, the fighters participated in the first youth plein air event "BSO Remembers".

– Each participant of the student team movement will be given a fragment of a collective painting, created by the creative group of student team members, and a personal assignment. Their task is to create a unified picture through joint efforts, which will be presented at the closing of the third work semester, – added Zhanna Naritsyna.
